Here's what to expect when you begin your smile transformation with us:

Free Initial Consultation

Step One

Your journey begins with a complimentary meeting with our Treatment Coordinator. During this appointment, we'll discuss your smile goals, take photos of your teeth, and may create digital scans to show you a simulation of your future smile. We'll explain your treatment options and provide information about costs and financing.

Specialist Consultation

Step Two

If you decide to proceed, the next step is a comprehensive assessment with one of our specialist orthodontists. They'll perform a thorough examination, take any necessary x-rays, and create a detailed treatment plan specifically for you. This appointment costs £95 (non-refundable but deducted from your treatment cost), or just £50 if booked immediately after your free consultation.

Treatment Discussion

Step Three

Your specialist will discuss their findings and recommend the most appropriate treatment options for your specific case. They'll explain the expected timeline, results, and answer any clinical questions you might have.

Getting Started

Step Four

Once you've decided to proceed with treatment, we'll schedule your first appointment to begin. Depending on your chosen treatment, this might involve fitting braces, taking impressions for aligners, or other preparatory steps.

Regular Progress Appointments

Step Five

Throughout your treatment, you'll have regular appointments to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments. Our Dental Monitoring service can also help reduce the number of in-person visits required for some treatments.

To make your first visit as smooth and productive as possible, we recommend bringing:

  • Your NHS number (if applicable)
  • Details of your general dentist
  • A list of any medications you're currently taking

  • A list of questions you'd like to ask

If you're under 18, please be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can provide consent for treatment if needed.

Common questions about your first visit at Alnwick, Ashington, Newcastle Quayside, or West Road, Newcastle

Does the free consultation include x-rays?

The free initial consultation with our Treatment Coordinator doesn't typically include x-rays. These are usually taken during the specialist consultation appointment if needed. This approach allows us to provide a complimentary first visit while ensuring you only pay for the diagnostic records that are absolutely necessary for your treatment.

How long does the first consultation take?

Our free initial consultations typically last around 30-45 minutes. This gives us enough time to discuss your concerns, examine your teeth, and explain your treatment options without rushing. We believe in taking the time to answer all your questions thoroughly at each of our locations in Alnwick, Ashington, Quayside, and West Road.

Do I need a referral from my dentist?

No, you don't need a referral to book a consultation with us. While many patients are referred by their general dentist, you're welcome to contact us directly to arrange your free consultation. However, we do recommend continuing to see your regular dentist for check-ups throughout your orthodontic treatment.

Can I start treatment on the same day as my consultation?

In most cases, we need to create a customised treatment plan before beginning your orthodontic care. However, for some treatments, we may be able to arrange a same-day start if your specialist consultation confirms you're ready to begin immediately. Our team will advise you on the possibilities during your initial consultation.

What treatment options will be available to me?

During your consultation, we'll discuss all suitable treatment options for your specific case. These may include Invisalign® clear aligners, ceramic braces, Iconix braces, or other specialised orthodontic appliances. Our goal is to provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision about your treatment.

Will I feel pressured to start treatment?

Absolutely not. There is never an obligation to proceed with treatment after your free consultation. We understand that orthodontic treatment is a personal decision that requires careful consideration. Our team is here to provide information and support, not to pressure you into making a decision.

Can I bring someone with me to my consultation?

Yes, we encourage you to bring a family member or friend to your consultation if you wish. Having someone else there can help you remember information and ask questions you might forget. This is particularly recommended for younger patients or those who would appreciate additional support.

What financing options are available?

We offer a range of flexible payment plans, including interest-free options for up to 18 months and extended payment plans up to 60 months. During your consultation, our Treatment Coordinator will explain all available financial arrangements to help make your treatment affordable.
